"I create versatile, trend-conscious patterns for the baby & kids market, interiors and home decor. My designs combine natural motifs with a modern, timeless aesthetic."
My background:
Having grown up in the Swiss countryside, I was surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes. As a child, I felt endlessly creative and full of imagination. Making patterns is my way of stepping back into this world, and I hope it transmutes into my designs. All my life, I was fascinated by British culture as my mother is British. Growing up, I devoured works of fiction, films, flicking through my Mum’s Country Living magazines and seeing some beautiful homes and decor whenever I visited the UK. At the same time, I am also influenced by modern Scandinavian/Nordic style, as in my opinion, they are the masters of style. Living in Iceland for 4 years has added to that view.
I studied Fine Arts, Textiles and have done courses in Graphic and Surface Pattern Design. My favourite way to create patterns is by sketching them by hand first, then digitising them in Procreate, and finally arranging them in Photoshop. The nature of my surroundings shape my designs as do stories and memories. I live with my family on the South Coast of England near Brighton. My daughter is a constant source of inspiration as her sense of play and curiosity shape how I approach design, especially for the baby and kids market.
